JOSE M. MONGE ROBERTIN, CPA, CIRA, CGMA
José Monge-Robertín, CPA, CIRA, CGMA, is founding and managing partner of Monge Robertín & Advisors,Inc. since 1990. A former audit supervisor and consultant of KPMG out of San Juan, Monge has over 40 years’ experience in audit, consulting and business reorganizations in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Monge has extensive experience as financial advisor in turnaround and Chapter 11 business, individual and corporate cases across industries as diverse as health professionals, hospitals, municipalities, government agencies, real estate, construction and development, agricultural businesses, industrial, retail and wholesale.
Monge is currently Vice President-Puerto Rico for the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA), President of the Puerto Rico Chapter of AIRA, and he is also member of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and The American Bankruptcy Institute. Monge has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico and is co-instructor of the CIRA Program Review Courses offered by AIRA in San Juan. |
MARIA A. PEÑA SIGNO, MST, CIRA, REORGANIZATION AND TAX ASSOCIATEMs. Peña Signo graduated from Florida International University with a Master‘s Degree in the Science of Taxation in 2005. She possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting of the same university. She was part of the Dean’s List in 2001 and 2002. Her studies include an Associate Degree in Business Administration where she had graduated with highest honor in the year 2000. In April 2014, she completed the Certification Program of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. The program requires a three part examination and 4,000 hours experience in insolvency matters. The CIRA certification is awarded by the Association of Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
Ms. Peña has been in positions of management, accounting and controllership, from 1993 to 2011, in industries as diverse as tourism, distribution, manufacture and medical services. In 2011, she joined Monge Robertín & Asociados as Accounting Supervisor and Tax Consultant, where she works in the supervision of Chapter 11 cases, tax research, and client’s representation in tax claims and investigations. Peña is a member in good standing of the Association of Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors since 2013. And Secretary of the Board at the AIRA Chapter in Puerto Rico. |
